“To start off today, I want to start with the idea of visualizing a map on the guitar. This is really an important concept so that you can pinpoint what note you are playing and you can then create chords based off of each note that you’ve decided to land on.

So for those of you that are new to the guitar, it is important to understand that every fret is a half-step apart from every other one. What is a half-step? A half-step is the distance between two different notes. Most notes have two half-steps between them… except for E to F and B to C… those only have a half-step between each other. Whereas the others have sharps and flats – aka half-steps – in between them.”
