In this video I’m gong to play some slide guitar licks in open g over a backing track and then I’ll break the parts down one by one and show you how to play them. First, you’ll here the entire solo.

Lick 1: Its really simple. It only uses the second string and the first string and we start by sliding up from the 11th fret on the second string to the 12th fret. When we get there we hit the top string as well.

Lick 2: Starts on the 11th fret second string and slides to the 12th. When we get there we hit the top string at the 12th fret (all the same as the first lick) then we go back to the 11th fret on the second string, slide to the 12 but also hit the  3rd string 12th fret.

Lick 3: This uses the 4th string and the 3rd string and is basically the same lick repeated 3 times. Start at the 12th fret 4th string and hit the 12th fret of the 3rd string and slide down to the 10th fret. Do that 3 times. Then slide back up to the 12th fret

Lick 4: Uses 4th, 3rd, and second string. Start on the 12th fret and we play again on the 10th fret.

Lick 5: Over the C chord. Start with the 5th fret, slide up to the 3rd string and hit the top. Then the 8th fret of the 2nd string then hit the top string. Then play the 8th fret of the 3rd string and then the 5th fret of that same string. Final part uses the 3rd string and goes open to 3rd and then open again.

Lick 6: Start on the 5th fret of the top string. Then play 3rd fret top string. Then play 2nd string from the 3rd fret to the 2nd fret. Then the 3rd string open, slide up to the 3rd fret and open again. We end by playing the 3rd fret of the 4th string twice. Then playing the top string at the fifth fret.

Lick 7: From the 6th to 7th fret on the 2nd string. When we get there hit the first string.

Lick 8: Over the C chord again. It is almost the same as lick 2 but in a different position. Start on the 4th fret on the 2nd string and slide to the 5th. When we get there hit the top string. Then do the same but hit the 3rd string instead of the top string.

Lick 8.5: 4th string open, 3rd fret, then open again.

Lick 9: Standard turnaround. All on the top string to start with. Open to the 5th, open to the 3rd, then 2nd, 1st, and then open. Then slide to 7 on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th strings and hit 7th fret on the top string to finish it.
